Automotive
market has seen a boom all over the world in recent years and it continues to grow
with each passing day. In independent India also, the first thing to see a
rapid change was not entertainment, not tourism, not even education, it was
automobile industry. Starting from the simple bicycle, that reached every house
in the country, two wheelers and four wheelers developed and reached the market
at fast pace and people started buying them. The development of technology led
to the evolution of faster, smoother and quieter, overall better automotive
models, which gave automotive component
manufacturers an edge for
innovating technology and producing even better vehicles and their spare parts
in order to rise above all.
Hero Group
recognised this opportunity and from being the producer of bicycles, it quickly
switched to producing mopeds by the year 1978. Rockman, a venture of Hero
Groups, was established in the year 1960 as the manufacturer of Bicycle chains.
And it backed up the production of automotive two wheelers and its aftermarket
services by manufacturing original two wheeler parts. Today, Rockman is the
most prestigious auto parts
manufacturers in India, leaving behind any competitor that
might have sprung up in past six decades.
This dynamic
approach in business and progressive development has led Rockman to score
clients like Hero, Mahindra, Tata, Honda, Ford, Royal Enfield, and UM
Motorcycles in OEM Domestic category; Bosch, Oerlikon Graziano, Denso,
Stanadyne, Borg Warner, Lucas-TVS Limited, Gates, Magna, Wabco, Nemak,
Continental, Mando, and KSPG Automotive in Tier 1, Domestic category, and IWIS,
Getrag Ford Transmissions, Getrag, Wabco, Brose, Ford, Borg Warner, Torqtek,

choice of these clients, Rockman is today the most sought-after among two wheeler parts manufacturers in India.
Rockman started
its high pressure die casting in the year 1999 which was a turning point in the
story of Rockman as it opened the doors to big projects from all over the
world. And today, Rockman is an expert in aluminium die
casting, having
facilities for all the three types of die casting, namely, high pressure, low
pressure and gravity casting, in its manufacturing units.
Rockman has the
facility for manufacturing different parts like alloy wheels, drive chain kits
and it has also stepped into carbon composites this year. Rockman specializes
in the die casting of alloy wheels with
two specialised facilities in Haridwar and Bawal with capacity of manufacturing
5.8 million wheels annually. It has 72 GDC machines with fully automatic
pouring system and a melting capacity of 1.2 tons/hour, which makes it a leader
in the industry. Its auto chain division manufactures drive chain kits and cam chain kits with sprockets.
Rockman also has
an excellent automotive aftermarket service,
which essentially means that it manufactures and provides original automotive
spare parts to its clients that are used for replacement during servicing and
repair of the automotive.
All these parts
are manufactured under strict supervision of the team of engineers, ensuring
the best quality every time, and the scrapes are recycled cutting the cost of
production, which makes Rockman unique and the first choice of automotive
companies all over the world.
